Well hello there! Just thought I'd introduce myself . I've taken the new band PARIS www.parismusic.info under my wing to help them develop properly. Check the website for new pics. Lynne's a bit of a challenge and has an undisciplined right hand on the guitar and you never quite know when she's going to forget her words or start playing entirely on the wrong fret aaaaarrrrrggggghhhhh. Rachel's doing her best to learn the low F whistle, bless her , but it's a bit of a white knuckle ride for me, as the manager, cos she does it completely differently every time. I guess she'll get there in the end.
PARIS made a valiant effort at The Talking Heads Showcase in Southhampton a couple of weeks ago. They sell a good pint of beer there which is where my profile pic was taken - quite handsome don't you think. Although Lynne did have a false start on 'No courgettes' and Rachel somehow ended up on the wrong side of the stage without a monitor at one point, they kept on going regardless and Rachel's positioning actually worked quite well visually when Kate was doing her dancing bit. I was unsure whether or not to let Kate on stage for this performance as it was totally last minute twirly practicy thingy in the kitchen just before we left for the showcase -- I took a bit of a risk but I think it was the right decision. Kate did pop up off floor too soon at one point but generally speaking she was pretty graceful. I must acquire a floaty skirt for her though.
We have a new band member joining which means I have my work cut out trying to sort them all out so I'll let you know how I get on. They have got a feature night in Bishop's Waltham in January and a couple of other's lined up so will let you know a bit more closer to the time.
